Low Wing Options step 1
Step 1Anytime the ball is passed to the wing, the offense has WING OPTIONS. There are 3 different sets that can be executed determined by 3 different offensive keys. COACHES POINT: Teach one of the reads at a time AFTER the continuity has been introduced. Teach the Dribble Up option first into CHIN. After learning the OUA set, then introduce the pass up option from the LOW set. The basic set for these options has the weakside corner, wing, and top of the key filled.
Low Wing Options step 2
Step 23 WING OPTIONS 1. If the post is open, the ball is passed there first and we are in our LOW post set. 2. If the POST is not open, then the ball is passed to the top and we are in our POINT OUA set options. 3. If 3 has no options then the ball is dribbled to the guard spot into CHIN. Anytime the ball is on the wing we have these three wing options.
Low Wing Options step 3
Step 3Once the ball is in the post and no option to score is available off of a screen or cut then the 5 will look to pass the ball back out to the 2 or the 4 which fill the wing and top positions respectively. On the pass out to either position, the 5 will fill the strongside elbow. COACHES POINT: Remember that on the pass to the top of the key, the offense is automatically in the POINT - OAU Series.
