These after timeout and continuity sets are two ATO plays, a Princeton counter and the 2-3 low offense, each drawn frame by frame.

These after timeout and continuity sets are four plays that do not fit the other set pages. Two are after timeout plays against man-to-man. Pearl Counter is the Princeton counter when the high post is denied. The 2-3 low offense is a continuity built on back screens and flex cuts. This page draws all four, each with its type, its action and every diagram frame in order.

For calling plays out of a timeout, see after timeout plays. For the offense Pearl Counter comes from, see Princeton offense. For every kind of set, start at basketball plays.

Two of these sets are called out of a timeout. Pearl Counter is called off a denial, and the 2-3 low offense repeats its flex cuts from side to side.

How to Read These After Timeout and Continuity Diagrams

Each set is drawn frame by frame, and the line under each diagram says who moves and where. The basket is at the bottom of every diagram. Sides are named as a player sees them facing the basket, so the left wing is on the right side of the picture. A solid arrow is a cut, a dashed arrow is a pass, a wavy line is a dribble and a line ending in a short bar is a screen. The diagram guide covers every symbol.

Pearl Counter

Type: Continuity and entries | Look: Princeton | Against: man

This is the Princeton counter when 5 gets denied at the high post. 1 hits a spin dribble, and that is the signal. 3 goes backdoor and posts up. 5 follows 1 across and sets a flare screen. 2 then has the post feed or the flare.

Late-game choices by score and clock are in basketball late game situations. Continuity offenses as a family are compared in continuity offense basketball, and the flex cut is drawn in flex basketball plays. Princeton reads are also in Princeton Chin series. More sets are on 1-4 high basketball plays and set plays vs man-to-man. More offense guides are under the Offense hub.
