Step 1The 2 is waved through and cuts through the elbow as the 5 cuts to the opposite block and gets position at the elbow. The 2 cuts in a way that sets a kind of "brush screen" to get 5 open at the elbow. As the 2 cuts through the eblow, the 4 drops to the corner to protect from a blindside steal. As a set play call or a counter to overplay on the 2 in CHIN, the WAVE series has 3 options: (Away, Over, Under)Step 2After the bball has been passed to the high post, 5, the 1 cuts OVER the top of the ball to set a fake screen for 4.Step 3On Point-Under, the 1 will sprint to the rim for the pass back from 5. COACHES POINT: This is a good option to use first when running this option to give the 1 space to read the next time this play is ran. 4 will screen in for 1 on the turnout to the wing. 4 will post up for the hi/low pass from 5 or wing pass from 1.Step 4In the high school version, since there are two spots to learn in this offense, we want to get the 5 back into the post. The 4 will backscreen for the 5 to get a quick post up. Once the 4 replaces the open spot at the top of the key, the 1 has the WING OPTIONS read available. High School Version: Same POSTStep 53 WING OPTIONS 1. If the post is open, the ball is passed there first and we are in our LOW post set. 2. If the POST is not open, then the ball is passed to the top and we are in our POINT OUA set options. 3. If 3 has no options then the ball is dribbled to the guard spot into CHIN. Anytime the ball is on the wing we have these three wing options.Step 6AIR FORCE This option will keep the 4 man as the post player and moves the 5 to the guard spot. 4 will post up hard. 5 sets a fake screen for 3 who rim cuts as 2 fills the wing spot by 3. 5 then pops to the top of the key to balance the floor.Step 75 will dribble to the 3 for the backdoor cut as 2 replaces the wing. The wing should be open for the shot or the post entry to 3.Step 8On the pass to the 2 on the wing, the 5 will then set a weakside down screen for the 4. COACHES POINT: This is a good time for 2 to pass to 3 for the post entry. Many times, the 4 will be wide open at the top of the key for the shot on this down screen action.Step 9The 4 will take the pass from 2 and reverse the ball to the 1 on the weakside wing. This ball reversal is fundamental to any effective offense and forces the defense to change sides also. 3 will fill the corner spot. 5 will move to the elbow on the pass from 4 to 1. COACHES POINT: On the pass to 4, the 5 will duckin for the hi/low option.Step 105 will backscreen 4 into the post. 1 will look for the 4 on the cut to the basket like a UCLA cut.Step 113 WING OPTIONS 1. If the post is open, the ball is passed there first and we are in our LOW post set. 2. If the POST is not open, then the ball is passed to the top and we are in our POINT OUA set options. 3. If 3 has no options then the ball is dribbled to the guard spot into CHIN. Anytime the ball is on the wing we have these three wing options.
