Run this play when your guard can sell the hand-off action and get the screener a step on a late defender. Your 1 acts as if the ball is coming while the screener slips before contact, turning the screen into a catch-and-go opportunity. It punishes aggressive defenders who cheat the hand-off by leaving the roller open in space.
